Urban Court Residence

Designed for a compact neighborhood lot, this residence explores how a relatively small footprint can still feel expansive through section, light control, and careful spatial compression. The front elevation is deliberately measured, presenting a calm domestic presence to the street while reserving its most generous gestures for the internal court and upper living volume. Openings are positioned to balance privacy with ventilation, reducing reliance on mechanical cooling and making the house comfortable in Bali's humid climate.\n\nThe project pairs simple geometry with nuanced detailing. Timber screens, stone-textured walls, and recessed lighting create depth without ornament for its own sake, and circulation has been shaped to produce moments of pause rather than mere passage. Although residential in scale, the design carries a civic sense of order, turning an everyday home into a composed architectural statement.
